Beetroot is gaining popularity in the superfood world. It’s vibrant color is attractive enough for me to add it to every juice I make at All The Pretty Birds Headquarters, but the benefits are just too good to not add this vegetable to your weekly routine. The sugar content also helps any juice be that much sweeter. Let’s see what this superfood has to offer.
Being high in fiber, but low in calories, beetroot is popularly used in weight loss. This magical vegetable can help make your skin glow with its ability to help eliminate toxins and rid of excess water from the body.
From all the processed food we eat, we are not aware what is going on inside of us, but let me just tell you there is a ton of inflammation. Beetroot contains a very versatile nutrient called chloine. And what does this nutrient do you may ask? Most importantly it reduces chronic inflammation. It helps with sleep, muscle movement, learning and memory. Studies have shown that beetroot can also help slow down the progression of dementia. Choline also aids in the transmission of nerve impulses and absorption of fat.
This vegetable is important for athletes or any of you pretty birds that are exercise fanatics. Beetroot has shown to improve muscle oxygenation during exercise, which is helpful during endurance exercises.
The possibilities are endless with beetroot. Try the Aerobic Angel I previously wrote about or this new juice:
1 Beetroot (raw)
2 Golden Delicious Apples
1 Handful of Blueberries
1 Handful of Blackberries
Juice the beetroot and apples. Add the juice to a blender with the blueberries and blackberries. Enjoy your crimson purple power.
