Hey There Pretty Birds,
As many of you followed on Instagram, last month EA7 Emporio Armani invited me to Cortina D’Ampezzo (Cortina) for it’s ski season-opening celebrations. The mountain-side getaway included three days of winter outdoor sports and took place over Milan’s Sant’Ambrogio long-weekend holiday. While familiar with EA7 as it is the official partner of Downtown, my gym here in Milan, it was my first time visiting Cortina, the fantastically chic and sporty Italian ski town located among the Dolomite Alps in Veneto. Traveling there with Ea7 for the season opening was the perfect way to get acclimated with the local ski culture, and a brilliant way to prepare for my trip back to the region during the recent Christmas and New Year Holidays.
Created in 2004, EA7 offers stylish, technical performance sports apparel, for seven key sports disciplines: sailing-inspired, driving, training, basketball, tennis, golf and ski and mountain outdoor. To showcase the FW2014-2015 snow collection, known as the Ardor 7 Series, EA7 planned a number of events in Cortina that included downhill skiing, snowboarding, heli-skiing and sledding. Journalists, publishers and other apparel-industry participants were outfitted with a suit of their choice, and were then sent out with guides and instructors to test how they performed. I wore the ski suit pictured in the gallery during the EA7 event and again when I returned for the holidays. I found that, in addition to being very stylish, it fit well, was quite warm and waterproof. Beyond the slopes, I wore it ice-skating with my son and around town. The suit was very comfortable in both instances and was a chic option for Après Ski errands in town – I personally love the black, white and grey combo and the fur hood.
If you’re looking for cute ski wear, I would definitely check out the range. While I didn’t see my suit in the brand’s on-line store, I’ve seen it in few sportswear shops here in Milan and in Cortina. When I inquired about my suit at a shop in Milan, the sales associate indicated that the EA7 range was considered a premium line in retail stores.
Let me know if are are looking for a suit and if you check out anything by EA7. Xx, Tamu
