Timeless Style: The Nike Classic Cortez by Tamu McPherson
It’s hard not to jump out of your seat and do a little dance upon hearing that Nike is re-launching a 70’s-style icon from its archive of “hits” this Holiday ’15 season. Just in time for the beginning of many-a-winter festivity, Nike takes us back through time to its first design masterpiece, the Cortez. Clean and minimal, this running shoe revolutionized sneaker design by introducing a timeless silhouette with a contemporary edge.
This holiday season we can relish in the shoe’s heritage. The original 1972 leather Classic Cortez will be reintroduced in royal blue, white and red varsity, white and black, and black and white color ways. We all know how important a great tennis shoe completes any outfit nowadays.
Check back with us Pretty Birds because we have a special editorial, directed and photographed by little-old-me, that we’re dying to share you. Meanwhile, if you just can’t wait to see the goods, feast your eyes on these shots of the Classic line available October 22nd.
