With cool crisp air blanketing NYC and fall unofficially upon us, the most exciting time of the year for all us fashion girls is finally here. In the words of Carrie Bradshaw “Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward for the future. This is known as FASHION WEEK.” While things have changed drastically since the early days of Bryant Park and when SATC was filmed, it remains one of the most exciting and influential times of the year.

But the biggest conundrum that all street style mavens face as each Labor Day looms ahead and we find ourselves gearing up for what amount to the Olympics of the fashion world, FASHION MONTH, we just have to figure out what to wear. Well today Pretty Birds we’ve rounded up some of the best trends to put your best fashion foot forward and start the season and week off in the best way possible.

There are few textures I love to wear more than velvet, we’ve chatted about how this perfect fall staple can be worn all summer but it would seem that designers are still not quite over this lux trend for the upcoming season.

With the days growing ever shorter and we find ourselves approaching the end of Summer’s sultry grip slowly transitioning into the crisp days of Fall, these autumnal accessories are the perfect way to jazz up your transitional wardrobe.

From beautiful boots to sultry stilettos and everything in between this summer is the season of silver pretty birds! I first started to crave including some of this metallic cool trend as the breezy days of May began to bleed into the brutal dog days of summer, but just never found the right pair to add to my shoe collection.

With warm weather descending upon us and wedding season in full swing, I have been scouring both shops and Internet for the perfect evening wear pieces to wear these boiling summer days. But my search, it seemed, was in vain; I couldn’t seem to find anything that would work. Everything just felt like something that I had worn before. Strappy sandals that would sink into the ground as soon as I stepped foot on an immaculate lawn for an evening of cocktails or walking on the way to an elaborate upstate-barn decorated in this year’s must have wedding Pinterest boards.
