How to be a modern heroine: Katniss Everdeen in “Hunger Games: Mockingjay – part 2”

Hi Pretty Birds,

we are diehard fans of the “Hunger Games” series, so we definitely couldn’t miss out on the latest film, “Hunger Games: Mockingjay – part 2,” which is in theatres now and stars the legendary Jennifer Lawrence in the role of Katniss Everdeen.
We were especially impressed by Katniss’s beauty and physical fitness; in this instalment she really gives her all. We, the team here at ATPB, asked ourselves what a modern-day Katniss would be like, what her beauty look would be, and what training and habits one should take up in order to become a modern, fearless heroine.

BEAUTY LOOK
Skin is always super moisturized.  For all of the acrobatics and challenges Katniss faces, protecting her skin is also absolutely necessary.  Never leave the house without applying some cream to protect skin from the sun’s harmful rays (SPF 15 is perfect). Our heroine has neither the time nor the need to fuss with a lot of make up, but her lifestyle demands that she wear lip balm, and we noticed on the screen that, like us, she can never do without it. And what about her cheeks which are always rosy thanks to pink or peach-toned blush?! Go ahead and try it, it only takes two minutes.

HAIR
Braids, in any way, shape or form, take the prize. Comfortable and, most importantly, practical, if you have long hair you’ll have no trouble at all figuring out which finish suits your face most. The key word is ‘texturizing’ to add a slightly messy touch to the hairstyle.  We can no longer do without it!

GYM
Sometimes in the “Games” the only escape is up. Work on your climbing skills with the machine Jacobs Ladder. In our gym, we use Jacobs Ladder for about 2 minutes as my warm up.
You will be climbing trees like Katniss in no time. You should be on your combat A-game in order to withstand your competition in the Hunger Games. We may not be competing at the same level, but kickboxing makes us feel as we can take anyone down. The workout calms us and keeps us super focused. Kicking butt and taking names.

DIET
Always on the move like Katniss? Need that little pick me up to be able to survive the day? We always love to have our ginger or turmeric shots when we need that little boost. They jolt our immune system and give us the extra vitamins and minerals that put our body in motion.
