“Haute Couture” Hairdos at AltaRoma
By Michela Marra
Hey there Pretty Birds,
The XXVII edition of AltaRoma, entirely dedicated to haute couture collections, has come to an end. Besides showcasing super chic clothing, catwalks were inundated with fairytale hairdos like the ones created by Compagnia della Bellezza for both designer Vittorio Camaiani and Maison Chiaradè.
For Vittorio Camaiani’s “Egypt in Winter” collection, the team at Compagnia della Bellezza, led by head stylist Roberto Maselli, created a special “pyramid” chignon, recalling the cone-shaped buns created a few years back by Salvo Filetti Hair Designer for Jean Paul Gaultier’s collection also presented at AltaRoma. Pyramids, the leitmotiv which defined the clothing, also characterized the hairdos and were created using a unique geometric frame composed of decorative braids carefully positioned on the models’ heads.
For Maison Chiaradè‘s ultra feminine, sophisticated woman, the team at Compagnia della Bellezza, led by head stylists Stefano D’Alisera and Roberto Maselli, presented voluminous, crimped updos, inspired by the ethereal atmosphere of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
