Hair: Summer 2015 hairstyle trends by Jean Louis David
By Michela Marra
Hey there Pretty Birds,
we spent a lovely day with the team at Jean Louis David intent on discovering the season’s hair trends and to get some tips on keeping our hair healthy during the summer months. If you are still wondering what haircut to show off, whether at the beach or in the city, go ahead and have a look at these new styles. From long, shiny hair that falls on your shoulders or short cuts that give a light, airy effect and create movement, to treatments that explore contrasts and play with color, as well as glamorous curls or super straight, shiny locks: Jean Louis David’s “Backstage” collection has something for everyone.
Short hairstyles include layered, triangular graduation bobs with longer, chin-length locks in the front to allow for parting on the left or right. Color treatments add the extra touch: two-tone hair color calls for darker locks around the head while the upper strands are lightened using ombre techniques for a blended finish.
Code word: daring. Ends are worked by styling outward to release volume and accentuate shape. As an alternative, opt for a more rebellious wet look: sleek hair triumphed among collections and summer 2015 catwalks.
A long bob without layers is the trend for the season: only a few shorter locks around the face to create a bit of movement. Ends are rounded while up-dos are inspired by pin-ups. Lovers of super straight hairdos take note: straighteners are a must in order to accentuate the structure of your haircut.
TRICKS FOR HEALTHY HAIR BY THE SEA
Conditioner is an absolute must for your summer beauty case and as top Jean Louis David trainer Tiziano Rossi says, “it should always be used in the evening after having spent a day at the beach.” He suggests: “always use a ph neutral shampoo, and if you intend to color your hair during the summer, choose a color gloss to prevent hair from looking faded”. When you get back from your vacation he suggests: “you’re better off trimming the ends, while, as far as color goes, it’s best to choose treatments which are less harsh”. Finally, CC Cream moisturizes and repairs hair, offering heat protection when blow drying hair while Beach Gel is perfect for getting the wet hair look.
