Flower prints and make-up: the coolest pairings
by Michela Marra
Hey Pretty Birds,
the time has come to flaunt some flower print clothes and accessories. We love them because they are versatile, cheerful and energetic. We also thought of some make-up looks for a colorful and creative total look. What do you think?
FLOWERS FROM ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
To be worn with a black dress: Alexander McQueen belt. Your hands will take center stage with Giorgio Armani Beauty Nail Lacquer in 604 Garçonne Fatale while your gaze will be tinted with Spring’s favorite color, pink, with Clarins Ombre Iridescente in 01 Aquatic Rose.
ROSES FROM BAND OF OUTSIDERS
With jeans or miniskirts, the striped cotton top by Band of Outsiders is really versatile. This beauty look is inspired by the colors in this top: luminous lips with & Other Stories Lip Gloss Applicator in Say Pink; on the nails we chose the sporty chic light beige color of & Other Stories Nail Colour in Nubby Sand.
LIMITED EDITION FLOWERS
Converse aficionados will love this limited edition pair. Shiny lips with Clarins Eclat Minute Embelliseur Lèvres in 03 My Pink, a lipstick/gloss hybrid, and pink fingernails with & Other Stories Nail Colour in Gull Peach.
ERDEM’S FLOWER PRINT SKIRT
A must have for this season is Erdem’s flower print skirt. A makeup in vivid colors with Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Voluptè n. 107 in Bordeaux Sarouel and Tom Ford Black Oyster Cream & Powder Eye Color, an eye-shadow duo in silver and gunmetal plus a cream section that serves as a base for the glittery metal-effect powder.
A BAG FROM GIVENCHY
A shopper with flowers and butterflies from Givenchy. For this beauty look we chose neutral colors like the Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer in Skinny Dip and CND Vinylux nailpolish in Dandelion.
A FULL TANK OF COLOR WITH HOUSE OF HOLLAND
Flat-out color with the flower print skirt by House of Holland. The pastel hues of the skirt are similar to the CND Vinylux nailpolish in Creekside and the new, super moisturizing lipstick Rouge Coco in 416 Coco from Chanel.
FLOWERS ON YOUR SHOES WITH MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA
White flowers on black leather for the ankle boots by Maison Martin Margiela. Add some yellow accents with Yves Saint Laurent La Laque Couture n. 62 Jaune Babouche. We love Chanel Rouge Coco in 416 so much that we want to use it for this look as well.
Printed silk for this Marni dress. The same green can be found in this Guerlain palette: Ecrin 4 Couleurs in 504 Les Précieux – use all the colors together and for your fingernails choose the Orly polish in Cake Pop, a pastel pink reminescent of cake fondant.
BLACK, WHITE AND YELLOW FOR MICHAEL KORS
We love this Michael Kors blouse, another truly versatile piece. The perfect pairing is with OPI nailpolish in Act Your Beige, a very light beige color; on the lips for this look we imagined a golden hue such as MAC Cosmetics Lightness of Being Mineralize Glass in On Cue.
We are crushing on this organza mini skirt by RED Valentino. For this look, we choose pink for our manicure as well, with Guerlain La Lacque Couleur in 368 Baby Rose. We give the finishing touch with one of the must-have pieces of the new Spring collections: the Guerlain Cil d’Enfer mascara in 04 Marine.
A FULL LOAD OF FLOWERS WITH ZARA
A thousand flowers on this Zara printed blouse. The background is black, like this polish by Formula X in Deep End with added glitter that give a Summer vibe. Spring comes back on the lips, with the peachy color of Guerlain Kiss Kiss lipstick in 540 Peach Satin. If you’d rather wear a dress than a blouse, Zara has you covered with this flower print dress. A milky hue on the fingers with the Formula X polish in Cloud Nine, and a note of color on the cheeks with this T. LeClerc blush in Mango.
