Five Summer Preview Beauty Looks by Michela Marra
Hi Pretty Birds,
Here in our Milanese office, despite the still not-so-great weather, we’re already discussing what we’ll be doing this summer. Why not get a head start with a bit of colored, luminous makeup? Here are five easy ideas to replicate.
Focus on the eyes: brown eyeliner pencil
The brand &Other Stories offers our first beauty look. The focus is on the eyes that seem longer by using an eye pencil in a shade somewhere between brown and bronze. The product to use is & Other Stories Eye Pencil in Bronze Naquet. You can apply a dark brown base over the entire eyelid, followed by two shades of bronze liner applied in the form of a clean, defined line to emphasize the eyes’ almond shape. Finish with a beige lipstick and a touch of illuminating cream.
Our second look emphasizes the light on cheekbones colored in pink blush. The idea is that you could use a single product for both lips and cheeks, while for illuminating and simultaneously adding a touch of color, the solution is Glow & Perfume Potion by Diego Dalla Palma, a pearly, dry oil that illuminates and hydrates the skin, making it iridescent and seductive.
Eyes are this season’s main player as far as beauty looks go. One of the trendiest techniques is the smokey eye, but with the warmer weather upon us, our beauty case is enriched with colorful palettes and powders, for example, yellow and green which are perfect for creating a statement. Try coloring the eyelid with a yellow eye shadow like Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow Matte in 215 Sunglasses needed and then apply Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow Matte in 276 Fresh limonade over the area closest to the root of your lashes.
Red lipstick is timeless. Summer variations of this classic always include a more orangey shade like Lipstick Pure Color in 418 Arancio by Wycon.
What about nails? Nude nails are still trendy, but we love red like this Smalto Gel Gloss in Refresh by NYC. Finally, summer obliges us to flaunt a luminous face. The best product to get the look is MAC Future Lustre Drops, a colored powder that goes on like liquid sun. With its water-based formula, it spreads evenly, for a pearly, luminous application. Inspired by the famous M-A-C Face and Body, it naturally and subtly enhances skin and has a luminous, sparkling finish.
