End Of Summer Make Up: A Day With Kryolan by Michela Marra
Hi Pretty Birds,
A while back, we were invited by Kryolan to try out some products from their permanent collection. Kryolan is a very famous brand that is very well known among make up artists. For over 70 years, it has provided products for theatres and television studios and offers a selection of over 16,000 products which are being used in over 80 countries worldwide.
I became familiar with this brand thanks to the many make up artists I know and asked them if I could try out some of their favourite items directly on my skin.
So, I went to the Kryolan store in piazza Fontana, not far from the Milan Cathedral, where I met up with make up artist Irene who gave me some suggestions for a summer daytime look (although it’s really perfect for any season).
Have a look at the gallery where you’ll find the products I used for my make up look. Continue reading below for my step-by- step explanation of how to recreate the look.
First of all, you’ll need to spread HD Micro Primer over your entire face. This will make your skin tone even and will also make your make up last longer. The ideal foundation, if your skin is like mine, is Ultra fluid foundation col. G177: it is fluid and light yet it is also able to even out your skin tone for a luminous effect. I used Concealer circle n.3, which is only to be used for bags and dark circles under your eyes. It combines a mix of colors and is perfect for eliminating alterations in color on your face. To set the primer and concealer I recommend the following powders: translucent powder tl 14 and translucent powder tl1.
Eyebrows are outlined and filled with Faceliner n.23 pencil (excellent for blond or light brown eyebrows), while eyes are outlined both top and bottom with a dark brown pencil (contour pencil 901), smudged outwards to create natural-looking eye extension. For my eye make up, the make up artist used Opaque oak coloured eyeshadow over the entire mobile eyelid (to give natural color without creating a heavy-looking gaze). Opaque dark brown eyeshadow was smudged in the eyelid crease while Living color in silk gold was used in the eye’s inner corner to add light to my gaze. If you want to enlarge your eyes, apply Cream liner in rose gold to the inner corner of your eye and Cream liner ebony long wearing waterproof mascara.
Create highlights above the cheekbone with glamour glow in moon dust (a light gold) while Lip ‘n CheeK in Petunia, will liven your cheeks. It is a very comfortable gel and is easy to use: you can apply it with your fingers or with a sponge.
The final step: your lips. To outline my lips we used Faceliner n. 34 pencil, then we used Lip stain in Jazz to fill.
Try out this make up look but remember to choose the right shade of foundation and concealer to match your own skin tone. All the other products used are perfect for all skin types.
